Local Product James Washington is Ready to Lead The Indy Kings to Basketball Royalty in the Developmental Leagues

(James "J-Dub" Washington)

More Than A Game,  the title of a 2009 film chronicling the rise of basketball great Lebron James. That name is extremely appropriate in describing how the experience of sports can affect individuals far beyond the parameters of the court or field of play.  From having the opportunity to cover the careers of various professional basketball players, I have seen how this sport can change lives by introducing players to new cultures overseas outside of North America, new business & networking ventures as well as providing a platform where they can possibly make a difference in their communities.)

I have a special passion for basketball, aside from playing and watching I love to film and write about the sport.  My primary interest is specifically profiling the journeys of players attempting to reach the higher levels of basketball meaning NCAA ball, overseas leagues and the NBA. I have taken great pleasure in writing about some of my favorite players hooping around the world via another blog called Buckeye Ballers, but nothing is more gratifying than covering players from your own backyard..and that is what is currently happening with a brand new organization called the Indianapolis Kings!

Giving Back - James C. Washington aka 'J-Dub' is a basketball visionary from Indianapolis who is the current owner & coach of the Indianapolis Kings. James is a basketball lifer, so to speak.."It is in my blood"..states Washington. He has been around and involved in the sport since the early age of six. A former player and graduate of Aresenal Tech Highschool, Washington went on to play at Joliet Junior College and Purdue Calumet University. Basketball has been a positive influence in James' life, and by jump starting the Kings organization, he sees this team as an opportunity to help local players realize their dreams of becoming a pro athlete as well making a substantive difference in his community at the same time.

Video - Coach Washington takes some time at the Kings Tryouts to tell us a little bit about his vision and goals for his organization.

This organization has a big name matching the colossal dreams of each player who wants to obtain the type of exposure that can place them in higher levels of play. Moreover, the league's reported partnerships with Aspire Sports Management Agency & legit basketball website Eurobasket.com are two nice sponsorships that will facilitate the undertaking of getting players more looks by scouts from home and abroad. The Indianapolis Kings joins the Anderson Legends as two teams representing the State of Indiana in the NABDLA for the upcoming season.
